The following proposal was today received from Thorsten Klein. A rough translation (with help from Google) follows:

Although I'm not yet ready to make a formal announcement (several financial issues must first be clarified), with this message I would like to inform you regarding the dates on which this charter may operate, so you can plan accordingly.

Currently, the following two scenarios are open (there is only one of the two variants instead!):

Scenario 1: On June 4, 2015 (Fronleichnahm): Steam charter as "double layer" from sunrise to sunset with at least 2 hours lunch break (Brienz). Departure in Brienz would be before 05:00, returning in the evening at 23:00, provided night photography can be offered at the latest. This is offered as an option in the short term and decided (min. 2 weeks in advance).

Those days are required to implement the sunrise and sunset photographs can, because it requires about an hour's drive to the top.

Such an all-day event can only be staged immediately prior to the season opening of the upper section, which takes place two days later.

There is on one lift as the BRB at any time, even during peak season, the risk that has to be canceled due to weather short term. Since before us to other groups to go up (the British travel group Railway Touring example) I see the risk but to be rather low. But there it is.

Scenario 2: The evening of June 27, then again on the morning of June 28, 2015 (Saturday / Sunday), as boundary time in the steam era where no cross-feed is on the way. Departure in Brienz would again be very early in the morning (the date is indeed closer to the summer solstice), coming back to about 10:00. The evening departure about 17:00 to 18:00, returning 23:00 at the latest. Here there is also the option for night shots.

Theoretically, this project could be operated in July, August or October (September runs Sunday mornings a former cross-feed) and then does not have to start early. However, I have deliberately chosen the appointment one week after the summer solstice, since you have so most of the time even before the regular service trains.

Price: Please count - for both variants - times with 300 Fr (worst case) (approximately USD $300.00 / GBP £218.00 / EUR €292.00). In the second variant participants may elect to participate only in the morning or in the afternoon at a reduced price.

Intended train composition is Lok 6 (2nd generation) with the carriage 16 and 26 may also be the M3. This composition has a capacity for 80 people (with M3 weight reasons only 48), but I set the maximum number of participants to 40.

Hallo zusammen

Ich bin zwar noch nicht so weit, die Sache ausschreiben zu können da es noch finanzielle Fragen zu klären gibt, möchte mit diesem Mail aber mein Vorhaben ankündigen, damit Ihr schonmal die Termine und die Rahmenbedingungen kennt.
Zur Zeit stehen folgende zwei Szenarien offen (es findet nur eine der beiden Varianten statt!):

- am *4. Juni 2015* (Fronleichnahm) Fotodampf als "Doppelschicht" von Sonnenaufgang bis Sonnenuntergang mit mindestens 2h Mittagspause (Brienz). Abfahrt in Brienz wäre bereits vor 5h morgends, Rückkunft am Abend spätestens um 23h, sofern Nachtaufnahmen angeboten werden können. Dies wird als Option angeboten und kurzfristig entschieden (mind. 2 Wochen vorher).
Diese Zeiten sind erforderlich, um den Sonnenaufgang und -untergang fotografisch umsetzen zu können, denn es bedarf ungefähr eine Stunde Fahrtzeit bis nach oben.
Terminlich ist eine solche Ganztagesveranstaltung nur unmittelbar vor Saisoneröffnung des oberen Abschnitts möglich, welche zwei Tage später erfolgt.
Es besteht bei einer Bergbahn wie die BRB jederzeit, auch während der Hauptsaison, das Risiko, dass aus Wettergründen kurzfristig abgesagt werden muss. Da vor uns bereits andere Gruppen bis nach oben fahren (die britische Reisegruppe Railway-Touring z.B.) sehe ich das Risiko aber als eher gering an. Aber vorhanden ist es.

- am *27. Juni 2015* abends und am *28. Juni* morgends (Sa/So) als Randzeitendampf in der Zeit, wo kein Planzug unterwegs ist. Abfahrt in Brienz morgends wie vor, eher noch etwas eher (der Termin ist ja näher an der Sommersonnenwende), Rückkunft bis etwa 10h. Abends Abfahrt etwa 17h-18h und Rückkunft spätestens 23h. Hier gäbe es auch die Option für Nachtaufnahmen.
Theoretisch kann man dieses Vorhaben auch im Juli, August oder Oktober machen (im September fährt Sonntag morgends ein früherer Planzug) und muss dann nicht so früh los. Jedoch habe ich den Termin bewusst eine Woche nach der Sommersonnenwende gewählt, da man so die meiste Zeit noch hat, bevor die Planzüge fahren.

Preis: Bitte rechnet - für beide Varianten - mal mit 300 Fr (worst case). Bei der zweiten Variante wäre auch eine Teilnahme nur am Vormittag oder nur am Nachmittag zum reduzierten Tarif denkbar.

Vorgesehene Zugkomposition ist Lok 6 (2. Generation) mit den Wagen 16 und 26 evtl. auch noch den M3. Diese Komposition hat Platz für 80 Personen (mit M3 aus Gewichtsgründen nur für 48), doch ich setze die maximale Teilnehmerzahl auf 40 fest.

Fest entschlossene können sich ab sofort anmelden (bitte angeben, für welche der beiden Varianten). Die endgültige Ausschreibung sende ich, sobald alle offenen Punkte mit der BRB geklärt sind.
