Semaphores at sunset

The new home signal at the Ffestiniog Railway's Porthmadog Harbour station on the eve of the Snowdonian, taken a couple of minutes ago. Tomorrow looks like being a good day.

Nice shot and a beautiful signal there.  One of these days I swear I'm going to make it back to Wales and take in the narrow gauge.  Last time I was there I didn't do it for lack of time.  Admitting that I have exactly zero familiarity with British signalling practice, what exactly are all those heads used to indicate?

Centre and right are the two platform roads at Harbour station, the left hand is for shunting the carriage sidings and the bottom is the calling on signal, when a loco (or whatever) is backing down into a road already occupied. It's not old, it was only erected last year and is motor worked.

Your photograph is OUTSTANDING! That should be the photo of the day.

I have not been to Wales for alnost 10 years, so I am pleased to recieve your
"update" on the real narrow-gauge. Thank you. wag216
