The Harz is a wonderful system that should not be missed. Daily frequent passenger service...mostly steam hauled. No need for a photo charter. The normal regularly scheduled trains look great. Other than the coal loader, your photos could have been taken before the wall came down.

Bruce,

That looks like one of the typical loaders from the DDR era.  I saw them being used a year after the wall came down and they looked pretty well worn at that time.
