Poland: All Quiet in Niegocin...Almost
Author: McKey

It is a warm and cosy summer's day in Niegocin, Norteastern Poland. You can almost see the air standing still, making people drowsy, deep in their own thoughts waiting for the train. The train here is Pesa built 218M (classified here as SA133), incredibly popular in Poland and some nearby countries. These modern DMUs come in many flavors, interiors and colorings. I have no idea how many have so far been built, but this is a common sight. Pesa is a large Polish train builder that has been able to enter export markets too.

But since it is awfully warm, let's enjoy pictures by Ilkka Siissalo on his and Sanna's summer vacation driving through Poland.

Looks like a streetcar with a diesel engine.

Yes, one of the many two moduled European DMUs. And this definitely looks like an U.S. steetcar when you can't see the scale!
