"La Bete Humaine" from France
Author: ExStarlightHog

This is a movie from France made in 1938.  Interpretation is "The Human Beast".  Anyone interested in pre WWII steam in France should enjoy at least the first 15 minutes or so of the movie.  I saw it on TCM a few days ago.  It's about a homicidal engineer and of course a love story.  I thought about how much of that equipment may have been destroyed during the war just a few years later.

Sure sounds interesting! Is there a website where I can watch it? Thank you.

Not sure about a web site unless TCM has one that you can watch movies on.  I've never checked.  I saw this one on regular TV.

Most important is the novel by Emile Zola written some 50 years before the film, which itself was made by Jean Renoir, son of Auguste teh great Impressionist painter.
These are both real classics regardless of the pungent rail interest. Read first and then watch!
