European Railroad Discussion > Parlor Car Carrabasset out and about in North WalesDate: 04/17/16 11:03 Parlor Car Carrabasset out and about in North Wales Author: 86235 Friday's special train on the Welsh Highland Railway, from Porthmadog to Rhyd Ddu hauled by Darjeeling Himalaya no.19, in aid of the railway's Silver Jubilee appeal. To travel in Carrabasset you had to bid a minimum of £500 ($700). For that you got copious amounts of champagne, a buffet and tea. At Rhyd Ddu the engine was watered. Driving no 19 was former CEO of Chiltern Railway, Adrian Shooter, it and Carrabasset's owner.
