The following services will be offered;
Feldkirch - Graz Wien - Bregenz Wien – Firenze – Roma Wien – Venezia Wien – Hamburg Wien – Düsseldorf Zürich – Wien/Graz Hamburg – Berlin – Basle Hamburg – München – Innsbruck Düsseldorf – München – Innsbruck The Wien - Roma service will operate via Tarvisio instead of Brennero Date: 09/27/16 03:18 Re: ÖBB unveils its new overnight services Author: andersonb109 This is welcome news. Assume trains with sleepers. What equipment will they use. This helps to replace the CNL trains being abandoned by DB...supposedly due to old equipment, not lack of ridership. Any sleepers I've been on recently have been full.

We'll see how long these last. DB likely viewed the specialized overnight services as losing money and perhaps a distraction to its core mission of providing fast daytime services. The fact that they continued to attract some ridership was not sufficient to overcome the perceived disadvantages. Most people prefer to fly for these longer distances, especially with air services being more economical to the consumer. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 09/28/16 09:28 by reindeerflame. |
