Tatra streetcars in Berlin
Author: boiler77

On weekdays it`s possible to found some "Tatra KT 4" trains online. Produced by Tatra in Prague, Czech Republic in the 80ies and overhauled by the BVG in the late ninetes they are the backbone of the BVG streetcar system in peakhours. But by 2017 they all will be replaced by newer low level vehicels.
Photographs today are taken at Tuesday in the eastern part of the city along the well used Rhinstreet, where the lines # 37 and # M17 are running every few minutes. Most of them are low-level-runs.

1. A meet of two "Tatras" at suburban (S-Bahn) train station changing point Friedrichsfelde Ost.
2. framed by an typical EastBerlin 21 story appartement building at the crossing of Highway 1 and Treskow Alley.
3. fast run along the Rhinstreet

A good day for all of You - Phil from Berlin, Germany

Great trams.  The new Bombardier trams are very nice also, but it is fun to see coupled Tatra units.  In the USA I keep getting told that you cannot couple streetcar vehicles, becuase that is light rail.  Hmmmm.
