Railroaders' Nostalgia > AFT Maps Raleigh to GreenvilleDate: 10/30/14 10:56 AFT Maps Raleigh to Greenville Author: BoilingMan This move had us retracing our route back to Charlotte, and then on to Greenville.
292 miles. It involved both the SCL and the Southern, but the SCL only assembled the train, and then turned it over to the Southern, so all the mileage was Southern. At the Greenville yard a Southern switcher cut out the flats and coupled them on to the rear of the 205. The train then proceded 7 miles to the site (Donaldson Center) with the 4449 on the point and the Southern switcher on the rear. Water stops in Greensboro and Charlotte. P/U press at Spartenburg. The Greenville site still exists. |
