Railroaders' Nostalgia > Great Looking CrewDate: 11/17/14 06:17 Great Looking Crew Author: PCCRNSEngr It was Saturday May 3, 1969 so I was off from school and got a ride to East Syracuse, NY to see the arrival of the Golden Spike Centennial Limited powered by NKP 759. Before the arrival of the train the out bound Penn Central crew posed for the local newspaper photographer.

Date: 11/17/14 10:36 Re: Great Looking Crew Author: ns2557 Being in Syracuse and looking at the age of these guys, I would imagine all ex NYC guy's. They do look sharp, incl the "Bloused" pant legs on the engine crew. Haven't seen anything like that in many a year. Thanks for sharing. Ben

TIA, Rob L. Date: 11/18/14 03:13 Re: Great Looking Crew Author: PCCRNSEngr Engine crews were GCT-NYC to Harmon Electric Division, Harmon to Albany, Albany to Syracuse, Syracuse to Buffalo. Many crews would be turned at their away from home terminal so no layover. Now they operate NYP to ALB and ALB-NFL.

Milwaukee Road passenger engineers worked Spokane - Othello, changing at Othello from steam or diesel to electric power but continuing their run. Wonder why NYC could not negotiate the same.
