Railroaders' Nostalgia > The Most Incredible Thing You Will See TodayDate: 05/22/15 22:50 The Most Incredible Thing You Will See Today Author: KskidinTx I couldn't find a "Humor" board so will post it here. Enjoy, if you haven't seen it before.
Mark Cole Temple, TX https://www.facebook.com/markdalton17/videos/10150713266878820/ The above video made me think of the next one. So, am editing this and adding it to this thread. https://www.facebook.com/markdalton17/videos/vb.634313819/10151576343458820/?type=3&theater Edited 1 time(s). Stephanie Ann Date: 05/23/15 22:29 Re: The Most Incredible Thing You Will See Today Author: wa4umr I had seen the second one but between the two, which one had the best / worst track? I'd say it's a real toss up. Would either of them even qualify as FRA "Excepted" track?

Date: 05/25/15 14:00 Re: The Most Incredible Thing You Will See Today Author: ddg I only made two trips up the Barnard branch, but it was a lot like that.
Posted from Android Date: 05/25/15 17:15 Re: The Most Incredible Thing You Will See Today Author: KskidinTx The worst track I experienced was on the Osborne branch between MP 91 and 96 (somewhere in that area). We always had a 5 mph on it except just after they had driven ponderosa pine pilings along the track in an attempt to hold the track in place. Then we had a 10 mph on it for 2 - 3 weeks but it didn't hold. Back to the 5 mph. Lee Wall and Gary Rich were my brakeman and I would let one of them run for me at that location. It gave me a break.

Jay Date: 05/27/15 19:57 Re: The Most Incredible Thing You Will See Today Author: KskidinTx I would have liked to have met whoever thought all that stuff up in the first video, from the man getting free firewood, the engineer with his left hand on his hip, the donkey, the tunnel built to accommodate the smoke stack, the cattle being driven through the tunnel, the drop, and the engineer running to line the switch ahead of his movement. All that in under 5 minutes. He had to of been a railroader or in cahoots (sp?) with one. I get tickled each time I watch it.
Mark Date: 05/28/15 14:00 Re: The Most Incredible Thing You Will See Today Author: ddg The movie was made in 1923, and it was called "Our Hospitality". I was laying over in Wellington one time, and saw the entire film on one of the old movie channels.
