Railroaders' Nostalgia > Any CNJ Railroaders Remember...?Date: 09/28/15 08:41 Any CNJ Railroaders Remember...? Author: RGDave One of my mentors as a boy was a good-friend-turned Uncle, a fellow named Thomas Gosson, who was a longtime engineer on the CNJ out of Elizabethport, NJ in the 50's, 60's, and '70's. He and his wife lived first in Bayonne, then Cranford, NJ. When Conrail came in 1976 he took a yard job at E-Port from which he retired in the early 1980's. He passed away in the middle of that decade.
He was known as 'The Goose' on the CNJ, ran regularly on the Main Line west out towards Phillipsburg. I think of him often and figured I'd take a chance here! ~RGDave |
