Railroaders' Nostalgia > Temple, TX Railroad Program: 2 pm, Saturday, January 30

The South Central States Chapter of the Railroad and Locomotive Historical Society invites you to its March 12th program at 2 pm on the 3rd Floor of the Temple Public Library, located at 100 West Adams Avenue, Temple, TX.  
Mr. Kent Hannah, credited for having the largest railroad timetable collection in the United States, will be discussing patriotic themed timetables and scheduled passenger service to Ft. Hood by the ATSF and Cotton Belt Railroad’s. Timetables were used by the railroads to publish the schedules and services provided by the railroad. Railroads used a variety of artwork of various travel destinations on the front-covers of timetables to promote train travel vs. other forms of transportation.

Mr. Hannah is a retired BNSF dispatcher who currently serves as the President of the National Timetable Collectors Association and editor of all publications produced by the Association. The Timetable Collectors Association has been sponsoring trade shows and publications since 1962 to aide the collector in finding rare timetables of railroad, bus, airline, or marine transportation from collectors worldwide.
