Larry Kaufman has passed away

Larry Kaufman died last week.  He was in charge of public relations during the Anschutz ownership of the Southern Paciffic.
I worked closely with him and his team   He had a long career in the railroad news business. He knew the business well and it showed. 

RIP Larry.

Larry was a member of the tiny fraternity of journalists who understood the business.  They included Don Phillips, Dan Machalba, Ripley Watson and Fred Frailey.  I enjoyed engaging with them and sharing the rush of being a part of the industry.
