Hi Everyone:

The Fostoria Iron Triangle Rail Park is in the making.

Heavy equipment has moved in Friday November 6, 2009
to start tearing down the brick building and clearing
the land for the rail park to be built.

Good to see that the park is going forward, had heard that it may not come to pass. This will be a good thing for fostoria and the rail fans.

I hate to see that red brick building come down but I'm glad to see the Railfan Park going forward. Looks like I need to start planning a trip to go visit old "Trainnut51"!!

May not start busting bricks until after Thanksgiving, Ellen told me yesterday that they're waiting for more equipment. Plus it takes 10 business days for them to complete the permits with the city and EPA to start.

Hope they can go through and save some of the better bricks. They can be used again in the construction of the viewing platforms, walkways, etc.

Are they still going to build the footbridge over the B&O? Laat I heard CSX would not allow it.

No footbridge over CSX.

We hope to have a lookout tower
for rail fans to be able to take
pictures from.

This will be near the CSX B&O line.

The main thing right now is to get the park open.

I can not answer that question at this time.
I will make note of it make the suggestion.

I'm always mapping routes from Western North Carolina to rail fan parks with the hope that I will be able to visit some day. Exactly where in Fostoria is this going to be, please?
