Same as before. Engineering and enviro studies are continuing, official word seems to be "2007" while the whisper is now 2010. The likely date pushes out a year every year. It started out as 1995.

NJ Transit is broke, and the Cut-Off is #4 or 5 on its list, way behind budget busters like a new Hudson Tunnel and the Monmouth-Ocean-Mercer rail link. Some people feel 2010 is optimistic...

What is the Monmouth-Ocean-Mercer rail link? Is that the proposed service from Monmouth Jct on the NE corridor through Freehold, Farmingdale and points south?

Pennsylvania is getting skittish about their end. Ridership west of Anomolink would be weak. The price tag is now $450 million. Methinks when it hits $500, it dies.

Yes, that is the line. Called M-O-M for short, it would link Monmouth, Ocean & Middlesex Counties together from Lakehurst to Monmouth Junction. The Draft Envionmental Impact Study is due out at anytime, last I heard.
