Eastern Railroad Discussion > vehicle carsDate: 02/11/06 12:07 vehicle cars Author: AmtrakPalmetto I just saw a video of a high priority container train, and it had a Maxi-Max vehicle car about 4 cars from the rear end. Is it normal for a Maxi-Max vehicle car to be in somewhere other than rear end?

I don't know if they've changed, but a few years back when they first started running the Automax trains (I think that's the proper term for those cars :) on the B&O, they were usually 35 cars, which works out to about 6000' or so (they're a little shorter than 2 regular autoracks, which are about 90' each) |
