Eastern Railroad Discussion > CSXT Q090/091 questionDate: 01/10/07 06:11 CSXT Q090/091 question Author: NS2649 How many cars does this train generally run with? I seen pictures of it, but never really could get a "Ballpack figure" if you will. Thank you.
Date: 01/10/07 06:24 Re: CSXT Q090/091 question Author: DJ-12 I believe 55 to 60 cars was the planned for standard.
Date: 01/10/07 06:30 Re: CSXT Q090/091 question Author: cpvo Thats about right, anywhere from 55-70 cars. Train was at the wharehouse yesterday afternoon but gone this morning. Another quick turn by RailEx.
Date: 01/10/07 07:59 Re: CSXT Q090/091 question Author: wabash2800 I've seen the train in Garrett. It was an impressive sight but though not quite a mile long it seemed to be. The all white train (mine had all new UP units on it) would make a nice shot from a distance broadside in the country perhaps with a wide angle lens. Some cars are sadly tagged, though not too badly (yet). Apparently some Ass****s are getting them at the end points as the train doesn't stop too long for anything.
Date: 01/10/07 14:01 Re: CSXT Q090/091 question Author: farmer The time I have saw it always had 55 cars. To days Q-091 was by Holgate on the Garrett sub milepost 75 at 3:30 pm.
Date: 01/10/07 14:29 Re: CSXT Q090/091 question Author: CShaveRR Every train run so far has had 55 cars on it--in fact, you'd find the same 55 cars running every other week. The length of the train is 4180 feet, plus locomotives.

Date: 01/10/07 17:49 Re: CSXT Q090/091 question Author: CShaveRR UP from Railex at Wallula, Washington, to Chicago; CSXT from Chicago via Greenwich and Cleveland to Railex in South Schenectady (Rotterdam), New York.
Those reefers probably haven't been tagged while in this service; as you say they don't usually rest long enough. They probably had the plague before being placed in the captive pool. |
