CSX K122 westbound past Point of Rocks Md. about 7:15 PM heading back to the Iron Range. This train unfortunately has a CSX SD70 leading the sole CN unit. I was a some distance from the train and could not tell what hopper set this was. It almost looked like some BLE's mixed with CSX cars.

Doug, I got e/b CSXT K121 12:27, Sunday, 9/7/08, Brunswick, MD, led by CN SD75I #5778 + CSXT CW44AC #115 + CSXT SD70MAC. It was mostly B&LE hoppers with a few BN and CSXT. Gerry

K121 met K122 just west of Brunswick, MD ... about 8 PM ... in the dark. :-(

If I remember right I recall hearing that K121/K122 were only temporary runs... If this is true, how much longer will they be running?

Likely done by year's end if they run frequently enough.

As a measure of frequency, there was a K121 on 9/1/08, also. Gerry

So did you get a good shot of it somewhere over there?

Also - have they started using the new signals at Pawnee or are the CPL's still in service? Last time I was at the River Corners bridge the CPL's were still in use although I also took a late morning shot of an EB train going by the new ones from the side of rt 224 with the new signal heads still twisted to the side. I think that engineer was laughing at me by then since I'd taken their picture between Willard and Greenwich and again passing the old tower at Nova (he got delayed through Greenwich) so that was the third time he'd seen me that morning. I wasn't really stalking their train, just visiting relatives in Lodi. ;)

Regards,
Michael
