Buffalo Central Terminal
Author: lirrman

I'll be passing through Buffalo next week and wondered how accessible the old NYC Terminal is. Can you get a look inside or only from the outside? Do freight trains still pass underneath (through) the concourse or do they use a different route these days?

You can read all about the terminal and times you can visit on this web site:

It's open this coming weekend, for example, if you are a member.

Buffalo Central Terminal is very accessible from the outside, you can drive right up to it. However, you may want to be careful, it is not the best neighborhood. The tracks no longer pass through the old concourse but rather the mainline to Frontier yard passes south of the terminal. The mains to get over to Bailey Ave. Yard cut between where the old track sheds used to be and the actual terminal itself. A pretty neat place to explore however I would be very cautious.
