Eastern Railroad Discussion > Detroit I-75Date: 09/27/09 19:49 Detroit I-75 Author: algoma11 My son and I are travelling from Port Huron Michigan to Deshler Ohio in a couple of weeks, and try as I might on various websites,I can't find out the status of I-75 thru Detroit.
Are there still blockages in the area of the Ambassador bridge? Thanks to anyone who's familiar with that area. Mike Bannon Kemble, ON Date: 09/27/09 20:03 Re: Detroit I-75 Author: toledopatch I-75 reopened near the Ambassador some time ago.
You may want to check the MDOT Web site for other construction, though, especially on I-94. You may also want to watch out for the road work on the I-75 bridge over the Maumee River in Toledo. Date: 09/28/09 04:46 Re: Detroit I-75 Author: Bath_wildcat the construction isn ongoing over then maumee river. I was just there last week. Sucks, but try to find a better route. also 18 is closed for some odd reason, so go to the cygnet exit and go from there. I was that way thursday to head back to lima to see the family.

I head SB across the DiSalle (I-75) Bridge in Toledo between 7 am and 8 am and it has been moving at or above the posted 50 MPH with 2 lanes open. Even NB headed into work at 10:30 - 11:00 pm with only one lane open we were moving at +40 MPH. Any sort of accident will turn it into a parking lot. I'd advise avoiding rush hour, when most accidents happen. I allow an extra 5-10 minutes to work due to the contruction. I've actually been getting to work early most days. Bring a laptop if you can to Deshler. Send me a private message if you don't have a laptop or ATCS Monitor. Mike Bannon Kemble, ON Date: 09/28/09 20:00 Re: Detroit I-75 Author: Jimmies Just so you're aware, there's construction on the westbound 402 in the last couple of miles before the Bluewater Bridge. Watch out for the trucks that might be lined up stopped on the highway! Also check your speed as you enter Sarnia as the limit drops to 70 kmh because of the possible lineups to the bridge. The OPP are quite skilled at catching speeders in the area.
