Eastern Railroad Discussion > RBBB Red Train Wilkes-Barre to Chemung, NY YesterdayDate: 11/03/09 08:18 RBBB Red Train Wilkes-Barre to Chemung, NY Yesterday Author: RDG630 Hesitated to chase the RBBB Red Unit Circus Train out of Wilkes-Barre, Pa yesterday as the weather forecast wasn't the greatest and I already had shots of the train heading to Binghamton, NY from other years. But the thought that it might have different power than other years and being retired led me north to check it out, glad I did - here are the results.
Coming into Taylor, Pa CSX 356 (The Spirit of Brunswick) CSX 125 and dogs breakfast paint scheme CP GP40 #4650 lead the train north. Crossing Tunkhannock Viaduct Nicholson, Pa - after crossing bridge they watered the animals on the main line - something I hadn't seen before, this is usually done in a yard somewhere. Passing old DL&W tower at Alford, Pa. Reading comprehension fail on my part... ;) Date: 11/03/09 14:55 Re: RBBB Red Train Wilkes-Barre to Chemung, NY Yesterda Author: toledopatch One of a bunch of ex-B&M GP40-2s that CP acquired from Helm after their B&M leases expired. These were the non-dynamic units in the B&M300-317 series. Many still wear remnants of Guilford paint a decade or more after joining the CP fleet.
