arrive in Fostoria, Ohio this week. It replace the Chessie System B&O bay window that has been around for sometime. Not sure how long it will be here and if the B&O bay window will ever come back. Does anyone know where csxt 903180 came from ? Thanks, Eddie Durnwald Fostoria, Ohio Date: 12/10/09 00:23 Re: CSX - 903180 - Safety Caboose Author: OARC Ed, try a google search. Ask the railroad employees in Fostoria what's up too.
Mike, St marys, O Great photos as usual. Date: 12/10/09 03:27 Re: CSX - 903180 - Safety Caboose Author: CShaveRR I'd guess Charleston--looks like a victim of chemical rain!

The 904033 bay window cab just came north to Lima. Was this the former Fostoria cab Eddie? CG Tower Date: 12/10/09 05:29 Re: CSX - 903180 - Safety Caboose Author: Thoroughbred-Ed CSXT 903985 former B&O Chessie System
bay window is the one that was around Fostoria for many years. Both ends received a fresh coat of yellow paint. Eddie Date: 12/10/09 05:34 Re: CSX - 903180 - Safety Caboose Author: CGTower I'll see if I can track down why all the cab shuffling suddenly.

Don't know if this is the reason behind the caboose moves but, CSX has been looking for a cab to replace the one that was damaged in a derailment 2 months a go in Richmond VA.
Russ Date: 12/10/09 08:14 Re: CSX - 903180 - Safety Caboose Author: ghemr Some may be "shuffled around" depending on the need for a working stove in inclimate areas of the system. As we all know, many are "shoving platforms" complete with doors/windows welded shut....
Date: 12/10/09 10:03 Re: CSX - 903180 - Safety Caboose Author: rhmich I have personally not seen this cab since October 1990, and was not aware it even existed yet today. It was in Columbus Ohio the last time I saw it. I also did not have it in my notes that it had become a Safety Cab repaint, more than likely done by Dwight Jones. Apparently, it has been painted like this since 1993.
Date: 12/10/09 11:22 Re: CSX - 903180 - Safety Caboose Author: CGTower This was indeed a Dwight Jones creation commissioned by the C&O Historical Society and the cooperation of CSX.

Date: 12/10/09 13:31 Re: CSX - 903180 - Safety Caboose Author: rusty The CSXT 904033 was the former Washington Court House, Ohio caboose on the former CSX midland Sub.
Send her back home. Rusty Date: 12/10/09 14:12 Re: CSX - 903180 - Safety Caboose Author: Thoroughbred-Ed When I check out CSXT 903180 today
I notice it was a light blue / purple color then the green from last evening. Was not able to get a good shot as units were sitting in front of it. Then check out the other side and it was the green color. The caboose has two different colors. Eddie Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 12/10/09 14:19 by Eddie-Durnwald. Here is some background info about the 903180: The Chesapeake & Ohio Historical Society celebrated the 20th anniversary of the introduction of the safety caboose on Chessie System at the group’s annual national conference at Columbus, Ohio, July 22-25, 1993. A C&O wide-vision caboose was repainted to be reminiscent of the original safety caboose schemes. Each side had a different color. Following the C&OHS Conference, the group removed the Chessie lettering from caboose 903180, replaced it with CSX, and added a safety slogan in place of the conference slogan.
