What is Guilford's current pattern through the Hoosac tunnel and are there any detectors nearby; what frequency?

Current pattern is AYMO evening, usually too late even this time of year to have much light (sometimes you will, sometimes you won't, it is leaving Ayer later and later!), MOAY anywhere from morning to afternoon, all other trains as needed. If you see MOAY, chase it to Deerfield, as AYMO and MOAY change crews (normally with each other if everything is going well) in Deerfield, and will not pass anywhere else on the railroad due to height concerns of the auto racks and double stack cars. Other trains include EDMO/MOED, RJED/EDRJ, EDNB/NBED on occasion (new train to VRS interchange at North Bennington, VT, also handles some traffic for the Adams local, includes a once weekly unit slurry train, generally Friday or Saturday), and loaded and empty Bow coal trains (completely unscheduled even by the standards of the other trains). There is a detector around 4 railroad miles east at MP 410.9 (East Portal is roughly MP 415). A good scanner setup will pick it up, as there is a ton of foliage between the portal and the detector. This will warn of westbounds. Your only warning of eastbounds, unless you manage to pick up a transmission before it enters the tunnel, is the signals at CPF-415 (switch just east of East Portal for siding at Soapstone). Bring a scanner and a good book. If you go on the weekends this time of year, other railfans may show up relatively soon before a train arrival, so this may also help you.

There's also a detector in North Adams that only talks for eastbounds. IIRC the frequency is 161.160.
