Eastern Railroad Discussion > NS Reading Line/New LocomotivesDate: 11/15/10 04:07 NS Reading Line/New Locomotives Author: VFPNSFAN I know this has been discussed previously but what are the numbers for the new locomotives being delivered? Also - I have heard recently train 24K and 21J. They are not regulars (as far as I know) through Abrams. Any one know where these trains originate and what they haul?
Date: 11/15/10 07:54 Re: NS Reading Line/New Locomotives Author: Gonut1 They replaced the 20 and 21E mail trains to and from Morrisville, PA.

When 20E comes into Rutherford, the rear end of the train becomes 24K. 24K also picks up blocks of cars from other trains that are headed for Morrisville. 21J runs from Rutherford to Chicago every day, but has been originating in Morrisville on Monday to relieve traffic (21E doesn't run on Mondays). They haul intermodal traffic, mainly TOFC.
