Eastern Railroad Discussion > Enfield, Ill., grain elevator questionDate: 10/20/11 06:00 Enfield, Ill., grain elevator question Author: mikecollins Good morning--
Does anyone know what motive power, if any, Consolidated Grain & Barge currently has assigned to its elevator in Enfield, Illinois? I'm specifically interested in knowing if it's still CGRX 103, an Alco S-2, ex-Florida Midland, exx-Frankfort & Cincinnati, B&O, and C&O. Understand that unit was active at that location as recently as summer 2007. Thanks in advance-- Mike Date: 10/20/11 18:39 Re: Enfield, Ill., grain elevator question Author: stlrailfan Mike,
I am pretty certain that unit has been cut up/scrapped in the last couple years. Not for sure but pretty certain shes gone! Think she was the last remaining of the four secondhand S-2/S-4 switchers that Frankfort & Cincinnati bought from George Silcott back in the 1970s.
Should you ever learn anything different, sure would appreciate a shout. You're a lot closer to southern Illiniois than I am in Maryland. <g> Cheers-- Mike |
