Reports have Q09012 on the ground through the plant at Greenwich.

Last I knew it also carried wine too, some Amish in Greenwich are gonna have all kinds of leafy greens with a nice Napa Cabernet.

Is anyone hurt? How thoroughly on the ground is it, and in what part of the junction? The damage/detour potential here is significant.

Ill have to agree... Thats the "heart" of all trains is Greenwich JCT to Chicago from all eastern seaboard points... It's gonna be a bigger mess on traffic patterns..

This has to be the busiest all CSX Junction on the system right? If this is bad enough then the ONLY viable alternative is the NS Chicago Line or VERY long detours.

Thats correct... All traffic from the Water Level Route, the New Castle, Indy Line, and Baltimore/Cumberland districts all funneled into Greenwich to go western points..

"IO" DS is parking West Bound trains all the way back towards Akron, he did say they may "detour" some trains towards Crestline if they can get some crews. Can trains run to Ridgeway then North to Deshler and back onto the B&O and continue West?

1230am update: "IO" told trains to start moving West, recrew at CP56 head for Crestline.

Ridgeway north doesn't go to Deshler, there is no connection with the Garrett Sub off the Toledo Branch, they are working on it now and it won't be open till later this year.

If both tracks on both lines are plugged I have no idea what the alternative would be, if by chance track 2 on the B&O is open I guess you could run some stuff to sterling and then over but I don't think you can take Stacks that way and I thought the switches at the connection from the Shortline to the Cleveland sub is hand throw.

There also would be no way to go westbound to northbound at either Ridgeway (for Toledo) or at Sidney (for the B&O to Deshler) unless a run-around move is used at either location.

But if trains are being allowed through Greenwich now, it may be a moot point.

If movement is possible only via Crestline, then that tells us the derailment was on the B&O side of the connection -- at Greenwich, rather than at Boyd.

Yes, the connections at Galatea ad Ridgeway sure would be nice now! To bad the old "Redbird" track is not in place at Marion any more, this was the interchange between the Erie/NYC and the C&O, it was a NE connection.

Nine cars on ground. Train was using the short connector and seven of the nine cars are laying on there sides on long connection. First car behind engines derailed due to broken wheel tread. B&O number two will be open very soon. Connectors will be sometime. Dragging a number 20 turnout from Peru Center to replace the one involved in derailment.

2 Eastbound CSX van trains through Toledo - 1st one running as 072 left Toledo at 11:30, second one running as 078 left Toledo at 12:30 (after waiting at the pad for NS 24M to run around it).

Edit: And I heard a 8,000'+ Q277 coming up the Toledo Branch on short time also.
