Eastern Railroad Discussion > EMDX 1201 Cat SD70 AceDate: 10/24/12 19:00 EMDX 1201 Cat SD70 Ace Author: Q4960 I took an extra 15 minutes for lunch today and caught the EMDX 1201, Cat SD70 ace at Carlock, Illinois [1st two shots]. After work I caught the train, with just the single unit, in Bloomington, Illinois en route to Decatur, Illinois.

John Date: 10/24/12 19:42 Re: EMDX 1201 Cat SD70 Ace Author: stlrailfan John,
the Cat ACe # 1201 should lead tonites NS #055 ( Caterpillar hi wide loads from Peoria to Port of Savannah GA ) the Cat loads move on the NS local to Decatur Il and once a week they assemble a high wide train of nothing but Cat and Komatsu loads . I am hearing the Cat engine will run solo and Cat PR will be follwing the train. Mark Mautner Date: 10/24/12 20:07 Re: EMDX 1201 Cat SD70 Ace Author: JET Thanks Mark. I assume the train will go through Louisville over to the CNTOP.
Date: 10/24/12 20:32 Re: EMDX 1201 Cat SD70 Ace Author: IC1034 Train is scheduled out of Decatur tonight at approximately 0300 hours and will head down the Brooklyn District out of Decatur to St. Louis. EMDX 1201 will be the only unit on the train when it leaves Decatur.
And John, yes. Through Louisville to the CNOTP once it takes the Southern-West District from St. Louis to Princeton, IN and then the Southern-East District from Princeton to Louisville. Lewis M. I'm out west and probably will never see this unit run and as a long time Cat mechanic, I would enjoy photos of the loads also!! Thanks in advance. Mike Date: 10/24/12 23:03 Re: EMDX 1201 Cat SD70 Ace Author: IC1034 055 [D625] will be on duty in Decatur at 0200 hours now.

No, if anything the should add a CAT logo on the nose on the left side of the headlight. Anyway it's a good looking paint scheme, it matches the tractor on the flatcar behind it, VERY COOL.! |
