Kinda wish they had put each branch's service emblem on the unit. But, thanks for the salute to all veterans, NS

You would think that the other class 1's would have something in the works now seeing what NS has accomplished. Excellent work NS !!!

Definitely a class act by NS. Nice paint scheme, almost like the Bicentennial loco Southern Rwy never had.

Now as far as the loco, it is like putting a pretty dress on a homely girl. That unibrow over the windshields is something else.

What is it about that cab that LOOKS like a military design?! A great tribute by NS, whose people and property seem to be brimming with creativity of late. === === = === JLH

Flashy! Very imaginative combination of the catfish black with red, white & blue.

Props to Norfolk Southern once again for a beautifully done paint scheme. i just wish other Class 1s would get into this kind of stuff, especially BNSF. Now too bad UP had to retire the UP 3300. Oh well, great job NS.

Hmmm. Interesting look.

I would have liked to have seen all red, white & blue, but I'll take it.

The horn was the first thing I noticed too! Wow. Hard to believe! Thanks for this unit AND that horn, NS.

Solid proof once again that NS is a class act all the way.
Nice job indeed!
Curious if anyone else will follow.

We can all find something to complain about but I'm proud to be a veteran and glad to see even 1 class 1 railroad honoring veterans with a locomotive like this. Sure, the could have painted the entire locomotive red, white, and blue or done any of a dozen other things but I'd be happy if they just took an old locomotive, cleaned it up a little and painted "Thanks Vets" on the side. NS has exceeded that.

If you get a chance to go to a veterans celebration in your community, just do it and thank a vet.

There are lots of conflicting numbers around but somewhere around 1000 WWII veterans die each day. About every other month I prepare a box of goodies to send to a soldier. I get the names and addresses from people I meet or friends. Go to the post office and get a "Flat Rate Box" and just stuff it with magazines, candy, personal items, etc... For Christmas I'm going to do something for either the "Wounded Warrior Project" ( http://www.woundedwarriorproject.org/ ) program or "Fisher House." ( http://www.fisherhouse.org/ ) If I can afford $25 for a year of Trainorders.com, I can afford to send a few bucks to the service members that make this country possible.

I yield my soapbox.
