Sunday’s photos Willard, Bellevue area
Author: agrafton

Got up 6 am Sunday the 11th for a full day of rail fanning and put about 250 miles on my truck from 6:30 till 5 pm. I live in Cuyahoga Falls just north of Akron, OH and followed the New Castle Sub to Willard stopping first in Warwick in the early hours to catch a w/b ethanol train passing a CPL in the middle of the yard. From their I head to Greenwich and catch an e/b freight about to leave the Willard Sub and head east on the Greenwich sub and a w/b K341-11 coke train passes the freight on track 2.
After Willard where there wasn’t much I headed towards Bellevue and spotted a W&LE freight on the Sandusky Sub just out of Bellevue near Flat Rock. At Flat Rock I found the W&LE stopped on Main Street blocking the crossing and south of town at CP Shriver a waiting coal train. Back at Flat Rock W&LE starts backing towards Bellevue and beyond continuing past ST RT 18 up the Toledo Sub (?) and stopping their at RT 18. I now head into town near Mad River Museum and catch, well part of a catch, another coal train with an UP leader and a Southern Pacific second unit for a photo didn’t hear it till it was almost to late. I chase the two engine out of town down the Sandusky Sub a get a shot of the two engines about to enter the town of Flat Rock.
I head back down RT 4 towards Attica and catch the two engines again.
Photos marked accordingly.

Thanks for looking
Alan

Nice pictures Alan and nice to see you out; how is the knee? I may have to have right ankle scoped again; would be the sixth surgery on that darn thing...Carl

Thanks Carl,
Since you asked that trip Sunday I made by myself drove about 250 miles long day and took four breaks. It was my right knee
and my gas pedal knee hard time working it thus the breaks and a few pain pills. I had a total knee replacement and it's barely
been two months, therapy said 3 to 6 months minimum and a full year for normalicy what ever that is.
I'm doing good for an old guy.
Thanks again Carl

Apparently, all SD40-3 rebuilds 4040 and up will have the railcar logo on them.
