X791 in my neck of the woods....
Author: FEC2000

After a heads up from Alan G and a few others, I managed to catch the CSX funeral train 3 different places. The sun was not in my favor for a head on shot, but the trailing pictures sure look good.

1. Rock Springs Rd bridge in Charlestown, OH

2. Same spot looking East

3. The whole train

4. SR 225 crossing

X791 got caught by the detector malfunctioning at MP102 so I caught the train again at the West end of Newton Falls after they inspected the train.

Wow, the 2442 was leading BNSF's Pasadena Local in the first picture I ever took with a digital camera back in 2004. Sad to see her going. Is there any chance LTEX will lease these units, or are they to be cannibalized there?

Awesome shots Jeff, I hope to be in town when the second set comes through, I am going to go after the GP30U that the CVSR is using if I dont catch the funeral train.

That is only HALF of the train operated into Chicago by BNSF. Did CSX divide it into two pieces?

Since they are four axle units I'd say they will survive, there is good resale value in old Geeps. These have a lot of upgrades so the should find good homes.
