Joni Mitchell's song "Big Yellow Taxi" has the refrain:

"Don't it always seem to go
That you don't know what you've got
Till it's gone
They paved paradise
And put up a parking lot"

In this case, "Paradise" for PRR fans was the 28th Street Yard east of Penn Station in Pittsburgh. All of the track, structures and other facilities were replaced with a non-descript building and a parking lot. However, a PRR signal has sprouted up in one of the parking spaces.

So with apologies to Joni Mitchell, I present the photo of a PRR position light in a parking lot along Liberty Avenue and 27th Street in Pittsburgh next to the NS Pittsburgh Line.

i hope an RV or box truck doesn't park in front of the signal ... nice photo
