1 scheme and 1 scheme only
Author: chessie-2117

If you could revive only one paint scheme from the past, what would it be? Any fallen flag will do, class one, short line, whatever. It doesn't necessarly have to be your personal favorite, keep in mind it should look good on today's modern wide cab locomotives.
Just a thread for a little enjoyment and conversation.

The last Wabash scheme in dark blue with a flag on the nose, striping and "Wabash" on the side of the hood.

Southern Green. Anything other than black would look better on all those Dash 9's.

I'm also gonna miss Denver Rio Grande & Western, Chicago & North Western, Atchinson, Topeka & Santa Fe, and Burlington Northern when they're gone. Why repaint dangit! Just let it go until it's ugly....

Atlantic Coast Line's F units by far have the coolest paint job. That and the PRR GG1's. I like the maroon with the gold pin strips. Very typical of 40's and 50's

I hate to sound like I'm jumping on the bandwagon, but Chessie System would get my top votes. NYC Lightning Stripes would be my runner up.

BUT

Consider a SD70MAC in Southern Pacific's Daylight! (Yes, I realize this is the eastern board).

Chessie System, Hands Down. Its definitely better than dirty CSX paint. Dirty paint shows the lack of pride CSX people have in thier railroad. You didnt see Conrail with road engines as filthy as CSX AC6000's

Federal Yellow, Enchantment Blue and Vermillion...here kitty, kitty.

Without a doubt it's Chessie.

Imagine if CSX had had a little imagination back in '86

ChesSea System perhaps.

Isn't it funny that the "Bright Future" scheme is a C&O throwback.

In order....

GM&O Red and Maroon
or
ACL Silver and Purple

Just imagine, new AC6000's in Purple! Cool!

I always thought the Chessie scheme was way too '70's.
