Shen at 15 weeks, fixed and ready to "fly" ...
Author: ddavies

Shen gets her bearings, wind speed, target speed, altitude, barometric pressure ...

TALLY HO! Next she dive-bombs Tiger, who is peacefully resting in the top of a cat tree.

Shen got fixed a couple weeks ago, which meant she had to stay in the guest bathroom for about 6 days while her sutures healed. Her legs have grown more than the rest of her body, and she is all GO ... run and play all the time. Most of the day, Tiger plays with her, but come the end of the day, it is a little much for Tiger, and she lets Shen know it ...

Shen is coloring out beautifully. She's very lucky to have a forever home.

Our senior cat -- a truck-stop rescue at 5 weeks -- climbed the drapes and the Christmas tree when she was younger, but now as a full-grown adult of 7 years, she doesn't even try it any more. Here she is at 4 months, well nestled about two-thirds of the way up a 7-foot plastic tree, and then about a month later walking the curtain rods in my father-in-law's house.

....Saw a picture of a cat and I had to chime in.

Here's my 4 year old kitty, Riley,(aka,"My lil' Buddy")

At 18 lbs. he's not your average kitty but he's a gentle giant for sure.

What does that have to do with trains?

Mr. Davies found this stray kitten while railfanning at Shenandoah Jct., WV., and has been posting occasional updates about her progress as a rescue. (I believe his other cat came from there two years ago, too.) I concede that it's only tangentially train-related....

I miss cats. Had a 14 lb Augaphyle (sp?) that let us live in his house. It just showed up on Halloween and by December the wife let it inside. It ran the house for the next 15 years. Turned out it was the previous owners cat that came home. We thought it was a fat Mom cat but it was a fat fixed male. Named Fatso it roamed the neighborhood and dined on tuna meals from lots of old widows. Yup, climbed Christmas trees and terrorized the pet hermit crabs we had, although it was more ascared of them that the crabs were of the cat.

Alright here's a cat photo that includes trains. Here's Oscar the Yreka Western cat that unfortunately disappeared a few years ago.

Riley doesn't mind railfanning either, although he lost one of his 9 lives when he heard a K3H for the first time!

I AGREE with that!!! We have 2 senior cats (13 yrs. old), and we just got a 4 month old female kitten. She likes to play with everything and chase the 2 senior cats. The one senior cat has accepted the kitten and the other has not (She has already scratched the kitten LOL!!!). SUPER pics!!!

My daughter refers to her older cat as a "Senior Kitizen."

Here's James, an orange cat at Orange Empire Ry. Museum. He has since gone to the "Happy Hunting Ground", but he was a favorite with many members during his years at the "trolley farm".

Rebuilders of ATSF 4-8-4 2926 in Albuquerque (2014 fire-up) are closely snoopervised by a squad of resident, hard-working watchcats shown here relaxing during one of their mandatory meditation classes.
Merry Christmas, kitty lovers!

That's a nice clowder of cats you have in Albuquerque--I would guess that someone makes sure they're fed, because they look calm and healthy.

For Heaven's Sake, I'm glad somebody finally used the word "clowder." Well crafted.
