Norfolk Southern 10A Heads-up
Author: OhioRails

Greetings,

A friend of mine, who works in Leetsdale, Pennsylvania and drives past Norfolk Southern's Conway Yard on his way home, texted me at 3:00pm today saying:

"(Ex-Conrail) NS #5406 (SD50) is in the consist of eastbound train 10A today."

10A is a mixed eastbound freight that runs from Conway to Altoona. Usually this train carries extra units that need worked on at either the Juniata Shops or Conway engine facility. Seeing as most of the blue SD50s have been converted to SD40-E's, this could be bad news for 5406.

It is the 5443 on the 10A. The 5406 left Conway on a 14M. Either way it sounds like one is going to be gone.
