CSX Q165 Schedule?
Author: MSchwiebert

After listening to a 14,000 foot long Q165 work across the Willard & Garrett subs earlier today, I found that this train runs once a week from Boston to Chicago. Does this handle boxes for a specific ship line, or is does it take boxes from anyone who isn't time sensitive?

I've never seen a DPU set up on the former B&O side, I doubt that anyone would be qualified for it.

I agree with MS. No DPU's on CSX. Whenever the BNSF delivered their coal trains to 59th St, the DPU's were cut off before they hit CSX rails.

Last year CSX tried DPU's on coal trains eastbound out of Grafton. It was only a test to take 130 loaded hoppers across the mountain .2 900 AC44,s up front 2 more 900 AC44's cut in and 2 more AC44,s on the rear but they were the manned M&K helper. They ran 3 of those trains like that but that was all. I was able to shoot 1 of them. It has not been done since and we are back to 2 AC44,s,80 loads and 2 manned AC44,s shoving. Randy

I heard they run DPUs in southern Clinchfield country.
