Was it all empty stack wells, or were there empty TOFC flats in the train as well?

When he came by Mertztown I'm pretty certain it was empty stack wells.

Yes, quite certain they were all empty wells.

So if this train was by Mertztown at 8 and wasn't through Phillipsburg till 9:43, where was it held? Normally that run is done in about 45 minutes for most trains running through and bypassing Allentown yard.

26Q was held at CP Burn, Allentown while 22V worked Bethlehem, then held in Easton, PA for westbound 21M

Thanks! Wish I would've known, I would've drove over the mountain to get a peek at Burn.

Do they purposely keep their heritage units squeaky clean like this? Or is it just luck that it's not dirty yet?

Real nice catch and you had the weather cooperate very nicely. My son was able to get a photo of this engine while we were in Roanoke back in July. The paint scheme looks real good on the engine.
