Eastern Railroad Discussion > Baltimore wreck, new footageDate: 05/30/13 13:24 Baltimore wreck, new footage Author: puddlejumper http://statter911.com/
Fire department news site. First page has 3 new videos of the wreck, including security video showing the truck being hit and the explosion. Dude didn't even slow down for the crossing, let alone stop. Dave Date: 05/30/13 13:49 Re: Baltimore wreck, new footage Author: chrsjrcj Wow, the train was cooking. The truck driver was lucky it wasn't his cab that got hit, but still quite the impact. Harrowing moments for the train crew.

In my defense it is buried in 103 post thread. Date: 05/30/13 15:06 Re: Baltimore wreck, new footage Author: Poker2662 puddlejumper Wrote:

Not a problem. I should have posted those Youtube links as a new thread. Date: 05/30/13 16:10 Re: Baltimore wreck, new footage Author: Hookdragkick That was a cold-cocking that driver will never forget; that was brutal!
That empty box on the head end was in no shape to handle any force like that. Date: 05/30/13 18:22 Re: Baltimore wreck, new footage Author: upmodeler If you look close at the surveillance camera video facing away from the crossing you can see the boxcar behind the locos looks to be derailed and leaning and kicking up dust. Also maybe the truck was spun into the boxcar causing it to derail.
Date: 05/30/13 18:36 Re: Baltimore wreck, new footage Author: CShaveRR The gray cylindrical covered hopper about six cars behind the units (visible near the trailers at 1:08 in the second video) is the one that would have contained the sodium chlorate that exploded.
Carl Shaver Lombard, IL Date: 05/30/13 19:26 Re: Baltimore wreck, new footage Author: stevelv Good videos for the CSX lawyers. Shows the stupid sh*t truck driver either didn't look or was trying to beat the train. He's is so lucky his moronic a** is still alive.

Amazing that the guys in the videos were just standing around. The guys in the cell phone video didn't even look like they wanted to try and get to the cab to see what happened to the driver. |
