At 3:10 12/15, the wife and I caught the following train coming north through eastern Chester:


3196 SD40, high hood
1592 SD40, high hood
6139 SD40-2, low nose

This ain't something we see down here too often -- a Norfolk Southern train sans catfish. We chased it to Rock Hill where I got some backlit shots of it. After that, the crew stopped at the yard to do some switching. We went on Dave Lyle near 77 for 85 cent a gallon gas, then through Catawba where we caught up with an uninteresting CSX train, then headed home.
