CSX's First Yellow Nose Scheme
Author: CRmac80

I've held off posting photos to keep bandwidth in line, but came across this one while sorting slides.Look familiar-like the new dark future paint?I've always liked the simple but elegant Royal Blue/Enchantment Blue of the B&O/C&O.Only time will tell if this new image will join the ranks of "classic" some time(way)down the line.At least this early CSX renumbering was done in taste with matching colors and only a small csxt on the cab, unlike today's black patch jobs on the NS ex CR power.Anyway, like it or hate it,this shows the "gene" the current look has it's roots in.Barberton,Ohio Aug 08,1989.RAD

Nice one, RAD. Especially a 6-axle job.
I always liked this scheme and really thought that "C&O for progress" on the nose was kind of cool.
Like you stated in an earlier post, "shoot 'em while you can".
Bring on the new paint, I'm ready:^)

Andy

P.S. Is that unit with the new paint running around or still in Fla.?

Sure looks a LOT like what walked across my viewfinder a few days ago... Now, when I get back to Hinton WV and shoot this scheme AGAIN, I will sure feel like 20 years old again.

Now, if we could just bring back the clapped out U25B's back...8-(

Well, open up your wallet and give CSX the money
to keep the old paint.

Very similar to the classic ATSF scheme from the fifties to '72 when the yellow bonnet went on.
