I like how the article speculates and assumes that because they can see blue and yellow on the locomotive that it must be a CSX train...NO CSX power I know of has pilot stripes like that. IS that MTA? Metro North?
As an aside, where I work, most conductors keep a spare bottle of water within reach, so that they can throw it at people who are doing dumb stunts like this...some of those guys should've been baseball pitchers.

NY Daily News story I see makes no mention of a specific railway, but cites someone speculating that it occurred on a short line because the horn sounds old.

The closest guess I could take on the paint scheme is East Penn. But that's strictly a guess. I agree that the paint does not belong to a North American Class I.

I'm not inclined to agree with the 'overseas' speculation because the subject's voice sounds very American to me. Of course, he could have been traveling, but....

Regardless: If you're close enough to the rail that someone on board the train could kick you in the head, you're too damned close to the rail.

Might be Croatia, for the color and stripes. There are several paint jobs in existence there.

Agreed - with the big open intake grille at the bottom and the frame striping, it looks like foreign power to me. Looks very familiar, though, just can't place it.

And just think having his "bells" rung will probably not deter him from doing something else stupid.
He's lucky that it was just a boot that hit him. Could have been a chain or hold down strap and his
head would have been rolling along the right of way.

I know the kid is an idiot, but so is the guy who kicked him. The kid could have fallen under the train, the kicker could have injured himself or gotten knocked off the loco, etc.
