Eastern Railroad Discussion > VIP Train on New Tourist OperationDate: 07/23/14 17:37 VIP Train on New Tourist Operation Author: RDG630 The Colebrookdale Trust Railroad's Secret Valley tourist railroad hosted local politicians and dignitaries on a trip from Boyertown to Pottstown, Pa and return today. Former PRR GP9 #7580 painted into Brunswick Green with both the CTR and PRR heralds pulled the special which included a former CN/Adirondack coach, an open car and a former PRR cabin car. Speeches were made to the assembled crowd on the return to Boyertown. The trackage is the former Reading Company Colebrookdale Branch.

Or even the Reading F's that are parked at Steamtown. I'd be curious to check out the scenery along the line. /Mitch Date: 07/23/14 18:53 Re: VIP Train on New Tourist Operation Author: jim6300loco Wow,
They sure did a quick job of lettering the engine. I saw it Sunday morning and it was still all black without lettering. It's kind of interesting. the Pennsy runs on a former Reading branch and the Reading co. tech & Hist soc is on the former Schulylkill branch of the Pennsy. http://www.colebrookdalerailroad.com/ Scroll about 2/3 of the way down for views of the line. Looks to be very scenic. I'll have to add this one to my list once it opens to the public. Date: 07/23/14 19:39 Re: VIP Train on New Tourist Operation Author: P That's a really old coach.
Date: 07/24/14 00:59 Re: VIP Train on New Tourist Operation Author: pdt A nice success story, at least so far. This line was close to being abandoned and ripped out.
Date: 07/24/14 04:36 Re: VIP Train on New Tourist Operation Author: dschlegel Nice coverage. This morning's Reading Eagle has a nice article about this run too, although one needs to be a subscriber in order to view the article online.
Dan Posted from iPhone Date: 07/24/14 08:08 Re: VIP Train on New Tourist Operation Author: Gonut1 They will need to cut a lot of trees down to make that line scenic. Its a real tree tunnel. I'm thinking they named it the Secret Valley Line because you can't see it therefore its a secret! There are some interesting wood trestle bridges in the trees if you could see them! Its a real shame they can't find any freight traffic to sustain that rail line.
