Eastern Railroad Discussion > An SD45 back from the dead!Date: 07/28/14 09:55 An SD45 back from the dead! Author: EH49 That's right. It don't happen very often, but, B&P has re-acquired this SD45 from LTEX where it has resided since being sold to them a year or so ago. This should be a REAL SD45 with its 20 cylinder engine still intact. However, this is not the original B&P 463, it was in SP paint. No clue as to why this was renumbered from it's original B&P number though. I caught it at Butler, Pa this morning.

The crankshaft failures were addressed with the heavy block which was introduced in 1968 and was addressed in earlier V20's with field modifications. The final "cure" what to make sure the block was properly line bored when performing and overhaul. Date: 07/29/14 09:55 Re: An SD45 back from the dead! Author: NYC6001 I just freakin' wonder if spending twenty bucks on a good stencil set id too much to ask?

Author: SooLine700 All the WC SD45s were true 20 cylinders to the end.
