An Afternoon Of Train Watching
Author: ns1000

Hi everyone.

I decided on July 26 to watch some trains and relax. So I went to the Harrisburg, PA area for the afternoon. I got a late start, so I missed the NS OCS coming back and the Erie.... :<( But there was still plenty of trains to see. Here are some of the highlights:

Pic 1: I saw three trains with one engine. This is the first one: NS 67A at Cove, PA.

Pic 2: NS 67W.

Pic 3: A WB intermodal at Duncannon, PA.

Pic 4: Harrisburg Dispatch had their hands full with trains short on time and track inspectors working. The EBs were getting stopped for WBs at CP CANNON. NS 28W got the signal after meeting the previous intermodal.

Pic 5: Amtrak 07T west.

Pic 6: NS 20K east with a SD70ACE leading. It also stopped at CP CANNON. The sun went away at the wrong time... :<(

Pic 7: NS 11J west. This train was delayed out of Harrisburg because of engine issues.

Pic 8: NS 10G east with a CN EMD. This train would take the siding track in behind a NS 64E.

Pic 9: NS 242 east with BNSF power. The RR is my wife's favorite train.

Pic 13: NS 23Z at Rockville earlier in the day with a new SD70ACE leading.

Thanks everyone for viewing.

I also did some exploring while I was there. I'm hoping in the future to get some pics from a couple new places I checked out.

Nice images, and a question. Is CP Cannon what old time PRR folk would have known as Duncannon? That bridge looks like the one across Sherman Creek.
