Eastern Railroad Discussion > just visiting, again . . .

. . entered Eastern Board territory this afternoon from the neighborhood in CO on the way to a wedding in Jersey stopping in Centralia, IL for the night. Stayed here specifically because of the crossing of the BNSF, NS and CN in a nice open and accessible area near downtown spending a few hours trackside and catching a few trains before dinner. Shortly after arriving Centralia the BNSF and CN "yard jobs" were exchanging cars at a crossover between the two railroads near downtown (top). A little later one of the Amtrak Carbondale Chicago trains was arriving passing the crossing of CN, NS and BNSF on the south side of town (middle). After Amtrak cleared the junction a westbound NS train that had been waiting awhile finally got the lineup to come onto town, cross the CN and continue west (bottom). Not a bad afternoon catching all four players in town.

nice place ... hopefully you'll get some time to get out and lens some train activity ... enjoy the wedding ... you're hop skip and a jump from the Lindenwold station for PATCO and NJT
