Help with engine ID???
Author: Benched_it

I realize the odds are slim to none but I'm curious to see if anyone can tell
me what engine this is? The engine in question is in the 5th segment at approx the
:40 second mark. It's the fourth engine in line and it's white with a red nose.
On this thread...http://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?2,3490908... I was told
it was on the NS 212 train? It passed through Greensboro, NC about 9:42 PM Saturday
night (8/9/14). A bonus would be getting the number of the TFM engine so I can write
it down as well? I apologize for the quality of the video as it was a foggy, rainy night. Thanks!

It's a former SOO Line SD60... probably one of the several that NS has recently purchased for part of the SD60E rebuild program from Helm Leasing.

That's awesome as I've never caught anything SOO related, thanks Sean!

NS hasn't acquired any of the former SOO SD60's. It still belongs to CIT Group. NS has, however, been overhauling the former SOO SD60's for CIT. Some have been repainted after overhaul in CIT blue, white and black, but some have been pressed right back into lease service without being repainted.

I don't think that is an Amtrak train. It is
a North Carolina DOT train.

You're right, but to me they all look alike and I'm not
really an Amtrak fan anyway. Thanks for pointing that out!
