Eastern Railroad Discussion > East Chicago, IN (CP502) ActionDate: 09/06/14 15:08 East Chicago, IN (CP502) Action Author: zchcsse This clip features several trains viewed from the pedestrian overpass at CP502 along NS' Chicago Line in East Chicago, IN.
Train 1: NS hotshot 21E heads westbound. Train 2: Another NS hotshot, 21J, is right behind the 21E. Every time I've seen 21E, 21J always seems to be right behind it. Train 3: An IHB transfer from NS' Burns Harbor Yard heads west on the NS and then branches off onto the IHB mainline at CP502. Train 4: While the IHB is still passing through, a GTW-powered local freight passes through on the CN Whiting Branch. Thanks for watching! -Tom You must be a registered subscriber to watch videos. Well done thanks for sharing. Alan Date: 09/07/14 06:44 Re: East Chicago, IN (CP502) Action Author: SlipperyWhenWet 21E and 21J are both hot mail trains, 21E is, or used to be alleged the hottest train on the railroad cause its due into BNSF Willow Springs by about 10am, but now the train is lucky to show up at Ashland for the yard crew to take it by 10am, its never on time anymore, it's supposed to be at Ashland by about 5am
