Deshler, Ohio Action!
Author: jkh2cpu

After catching NKP 765 the day before, I headed out of Fostoria last Friday
and stopped by in Deshler, Ohio just to see what was up. I found the KCS
engine and a short train sitting on a siding, with no signs of crew being
in the cab. I record the CSX heading east, and then wait for the westbound UP
and the east bound BNSF powered oil train. The shaking and jittering is not
my tripod giving up the ghost, but rather the ground moving as the trains
pass. The BNSF powered train stopped in Deshler, and the crew asked how long
the wait would be. The Dispatcher replied that as soon as the UP powered train
passed, the BNSF would have a route east, and so it was, within five minutes of
the UP's passage, the BNSF was on the move again, switching tracks right there.

Love the variety of Lines you captured and especially how you used the fade technique of transitioning to each cut!

Someone on the Presidential train did not approve of the KCS unit sitting there and was picked up by the next eastbound train.

Nice quality video. Like how you positioned the KCS where all the action was. What video equipment do you use if I may ask. Looking to buy a new video camera for the first time in over 10 years and find yours to be very clear. Thanks, Ron

Thanks, guys. The video 'camera' is a Nikon D600 and I was using a
80-200 mm f2.8 zoom. I've got a heavy-duty Manfrotto tripod to keep
things more or less steady.

John.

Thanks for uploading the nice, sharp video. Can you tell me what video editing software you're using?

Again, thanks for sharing.
