I shot 15 trains today in Northeast Indiana on the CSX and NS Chicago lines and showing 10 of them with plenty of color in the engine consists:
Eastbound CSX Cincinnati-bound mixed freight, Q501-18, departing from the Garrett, IN yard at 0823 with a matched pair of CP (former Soo) SD60's: 6243 & 6252 at 0823. Eastbound CP (NS trackage rights) train 240 with 8818 & 8542 on 1 track nearing the northeasterly swing onto the former Wabash for the trip to Detroit at Butler, IN at 0901. Eastbound NS train 66X powered by NS 9810 and CN' 2264 & 5708 west of Butler, IN on the NS Chicago line at 0928. I received a call about a good lashup on the NKP in Fort Wayne and shot the eastbound CSX N820-17 in St. Joe on the CSX Chicago line on my way south. Power was SD70ACe 9082 & 5990 for the 119 western coal loads at 0953. Eastbound NS W06 parked at the Reduction Center in New Haven, IN on the former NKP Chicago line with a pair of CP EMD's: 2214 & 2209 and EB NS 234 led by 2628 at 1044. Westbound CSX work train W037 at East Avilla, IN on the CSX Chicago line at 1510 with odd power: 2484 & 2487. Westbound NS mixed freight train 309 west of Wawaka, IN on the NS Chicago line with BNSF red/silver 706 and NS 2516 at 1719. Westbound NS WEPX coal train, 552, in Wawaka, IN powered by 9207, 8453 & 6945 passing the massive grain elevator complex at 1739. Westbound CSX empty western coal train, E958, with UP 6566 and CNW 6721 at West Garrett, IN at 1824. Westbound CSX coke train, K375, departing Garrett, IN from the third main with CSX' 7537 & 5351 passing the sitting mixed freight, Q389, on 2 track at West Garrett, IN at 1900.
