Eastern Railroad Discussion > CSX Railroad PolicemanDate: 09/22/14 11:22 CSX Railroad Policeman Author: cinder Mention has been made of a relatively new (hired in 2011) CSX "special agent" who started out in Brunswick, MD and now works out of Cumberland, MD. Allegedly, he has written up unsuspecting trout fishermen in the FO (Foley) area of Sand Patch grade.
Don Buracker had been the Harpers Ferry Police Chief. Anybody here on TO met the man? http://www.journal-news.net/page/content.detail/id/555679/Buracker-leaving-Harpers-Ferry.html%3Fnav%3D5006 Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 09/22/14 11:44 by cinder. Date: 09/22/14 14:38 Re: CSX Railroad Policeman Author: mp208 Sounds like a new "Cinderdick" legend in the making. Everyone reviled UP "Rusty" at Techachapi, CA. now we have "muckraker" on Sandpatch?
Date: 09/22/14 18:21 Re: CSX Railroad Policeman Author: holiwood Does he drive a marked white Ford Explorer with lightbar?
One of those marked CSX Police rode through Shenandoah Junction and kept going last week hollywood NS B-Line MP 74 Date: 09/22/14 19:14 Re: CSX Railroad Policeman Author: mjbobb holiwood Wrote:

Letters of complaint to CSX PR and also to your local Congressmen, Senators, and state legislators, mayor, etc. For trout-fishing, hey? Good GRIEF. Better get this guy off of the job because he's a powder keg waiting to explode. This is the way too "Gung Ho" type with an itchy trigger finger who is simply just "getting off" on his job and the power sensation that he feels from it.

Perhaps he was "promoted" to citizen? John R -- CP Spring Carlisle, PA Date: 09/23/14 06:35 Re: CSX Railroad Policeman Author: BaltoJoey After doing a little Googling and reading various
newspaper articles about his resigning as Harpers Ferry's police chief. It appears he left because he could make more money as a CSX cop. He was with the Harpers Ferry PD for 20 years, 12 years as chief. So I don't think he was "promoted" to citizen. BaltoJoey PS: Go to page 6 of the Feb., 2013 issue of CSX Police Magazine. There is an article about him. Reading the article, he appears to be strict. But also compassionate to those in need. My hometown in Northern NY's current police chief only made it because nobody else wanted the job, and they couldn't find anyone else qualified willing to move there. Not suggesting that's the case for this guy, but sometimes, you're the lesser of two evils. Date: 09/23/14 09:52 Re: CSX Railroad Policeman Author: Lackawanna484 There may also be a pension angle at work here. In NJ, most police officers are covered under the state retirement plan, and most do not pay into social security. Officers can retire with 25 years in, and age 45, with credit for military etc service.
At that age, you're in a good position to take a job which pays into social security and has its own pension or company match 401K. Sticking around with the old job doesn't increase your pension by very much. Date: 09/23/14 12:11 Re: CSX Railroad Policeman Author: hoydie17 Lackawanna484 Wrote:

Date: 09/23/14 20:31 Re: CSX Railroad Policeman Author: holiwood He rode through Shenandoah Junction today

And on the other side of the river, 3 or the 5 last police chiefs have all gone to jail. So I wouldn't necessarily say that the "position" means much... It means he wasn't covering his tracks, or wasn't cutting in enough people on his deals. |
